The website brings together RSPCA Victoria’s education, advocacy, veterinary, adoption, fostering and volunteering programs, while providing a direct connection between the public and the RSPCA Inspectorate team.
A custom integration with RSPCA Victoria’s animal management system keeps animals available for adoption and fostering up to date, helping more animals find their way into loving homes.
Making it easier to report animal cruelty
The Cruelty Report and Tip Off form experiences were redesigned, making it quick and easy for the public to report suspected animal cruelty on any device while providing the RSPCA Inspectorate team with the information they need to respond, rescue and prosecute.

The website supports a wide range of audiences, each with different needs and reasons for visiting. The first phase included restructuring the information architecture and user experience improvements to make it easier for people to find the information they need.

Design
The national RSPCA branding was utilised to bring Victoria’s website inline with other states while improving the experience for users.
A design system was created as the first phase of a broader rollout, focusing on improving the existing experience and while create a foundation for future design and functionality.

Development
The first phase focused on moving the website from WordPress to Craft Cloud CMS, giving the RSPCA Victoria team a more flexible, stable and secure platform for managing the website.
Custom form flows were developed for the Cruelty Report and Tip Off forms, supporting the RSPCA Inspectorate team to efficiently receive and triage reports of animal cruelty.
A custom API integration with RSPCA Victoria’s animal management system keeps adoption and fostering information up to date, automatically adding, removing and updating animal listings as information changes.
A headless Astro and React front end provides a fast and optimised experience for users with exceptional website performance and low page-load times.
